Mark Sirett Endowment for Choral Innovation

In December 2022, Dr. Mark Sirett was appointed Member of the Order of Canada – Canada’s highest honour – for “his steadfast commitment to the field of choral music as a renowned composer, conductor, and community leader.”

The Order of Canada was established in 1967 to honour people who make extraordinary contributions to the nation.

Cantabile is celebrating this incredible achievement by establishing the Mark Sirett Endowment for Choral Innovation. Through this endowment we will:
• Recognize Mark’s unique contribution to our community.
• Secure the future of the organization Mark has worked tirelessly to build.
• Support the kind of creative, innovative programming that characterizes Mark’s work: awe-inspiring themed concerts, multidisciplinary guest artists of national and international stature, and driving the creation of new choral works.
